Australian tap water is among the most treated in the world. Municipal suppliers remove biological hazards effectively — but the treatment process introduces its own concerns: chlorine, fluoride, and an increasing burden of industrial contaminants including PFAS forever chemicals, now detectable in water supplies across the country.
Most household filters address chlorine. Few address fluoride. Almost none address PFAS. And virtually all of them strip the beneficial minerals from the water in the process — leaving you with water that is cleaner in some ways, but emptier in others.
